What happened and what to do
In a report published on October 26, 2026, Check Point Research brought together incidents including the compromise of a Japanese hosting provider’s servers, with more than 26,000 potentially affected; the exposure of 3,897 customer records at an Indian bank; and the abuse of compromised keys to install backdoors on WordPress sites. The report also describes a supply-chain attack on an AI gateway, involving malicious packages and images designed to steal credentials and secrets. Researchers further reported AI agents being used in attacks against 62 organizations and AI tools supporting criminal operations.
Companies can respond by inventorying credentials and dependencies, monitoring package and image changes, strengthening remote-access controls, and maintaining procedures to revoke secrets and contain compromised systems. Wendelmaques can help assess exposure and design and implement monitoring and response automation on the company’s infrastructure.
